A blessing in disguise

Friday I went back down to Waldport with Naomi to enroll the girls in school.  While we were inside, some lady came in and said, "Does anyone drive a white mini van?"  I do.  She informed me that she backed into it.  She drove a suburban with a trailer hitch.  I don't know how fast she was backing out because she managed to do $1800 of damage to my car.  Oh yeah...she was driving without insurance.

Turns out, you really ARE in good hands with Allstate.  They came out and appraised the damage to the car and wrote us a check to cover the damages.  I told the guy we didn't really want to put that much money into the car because we were probably going to get a new car in the next few months anyway.  He told us we could actually do whatever we wanted with the money.  We could use some of it to fix the car or take it and go to Disneyland.  While we actually DO want to go to Disneyland :)  we decided to just use the money for a down payment on a new car.

So, thanks uninsured motorist and Allstate for your generous donation to our new vehicle.

That is great that she was honest enough to seek out the owner.
