The centerpiece and a careful examination of the napkin boat :)
Naturally, I was the cook and Naomi was the waitress. She went around taking every body's order. We feasted on Danish Pork Loin, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, green beans, and homemade french bread.

After dinner we sang Happy Birthday and ate a very rich Chocolate Orange cake layered with chocolate mousse and topped with chocolate orange ganache. (My own creation.)
It was a wonderful dinner! We had such a great time. Then the girls gave their Daddy his Father's Day present, a movie night in a bag. They each picked out a box of candy, some popcorn and a movie.
Happy Father's Day Lars! We love you

Awesome! All his favorite things! And that cake looks the beast!
that was me not Eric--ok we do leave our gmail open all the time--do it to each other.
Your cake is gorgeous! I want to come eat at the Phat Viking!
liz- i just dolled up a cake mix with milk instead of water, sour cream instead of oil and an extra egg. then i chopped a 3 oz orange choclate candy bar into the batter. the middle is a chocolate mousse and for the ganache i melted 6 oz of dark chocolate with 3/4 c coconut milk and added some orange extract.
can we celebrate my birthday when you're here? and you can make my cake?! that's what i want for dinner and dessert. ;)
I think since I gave you life, you really should make that cake for me and I'll even share it with everyone! Can't wait to see you and yours! Love you.
